In 1997 a public organization was created within the F. M. Dostoevsky Literary-Memorial Museum: "The St. Petersburg Public Charitable Foundation of the Friends of the F. M. Dostoevsky Museum". The Foundation’s Advisory Council includes the writer Daniil Granin (Russia); Baron Eduard von Falz-Fein (Liechtenstein); the artist and art historian Professor Harold van de Perre (Belgium); and Professor Robert Belknap (USA). Among the Foundation members: Director of the company "Aquaphor" Alexander Liberman; Deputy of the Municipal unit "Vladimirskiy district" I. Lysenko; the writer and journalist, initiator of creation of the Norwegian Society of Friends of the Petersburg Dostoevsky Museum Peter Normann Waage, and others. The Foundation’s Director is Natalia Asimbaeva, Ph. D. candidate and Director of the Dostoevsky Museum. The foundation’s main task is to unite the efforts of various organizations and private individuals in their support of the Museum in all aspects of its work.

Joining the Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum

Any private individual or organization, having contributed to the museum’s activities according to his possibilities, can become member of the Society of  the Dostoevsky Museum’s Friends.

 Becoming member of the Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum, you can make a charitable contribution to the preservation and development of the museum of the most Petersburg writer. You will become privy to our museum’s history, you could take part in the realization of our projects.

When making your contribution, you are invited to specify the program of the museum’s activity to which you wish your gift to be applied.

The grade of your participation to the museum’s life will depend on the sum of the yearly contribution you make.

 

Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum membership

Individual friends: US $ 50  (in ruble equivalent).

Benefits:

-Membership card of an individual friend of the Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum entitling the holder to unlimited free admission to the museum, including all exhibitions

 -Invitations for special events, arranged exclusively for the members of the Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum

Trustees: US $ 300 (in ruble equivalent)

Those wishing to make an important charitable contribution to the museum's development program, are invited to become trustees of the Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum.

Benefits:

-Membership card of a Trustee of the Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum entitling the holder and his two guests to unlimited free admission to the museum, including all exhibitions.

-invitations for special events arranged exclusively for the members of the Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum.

- invitations for two to the opening of the major temporary exhibitions in the Dostoevsky Museum.

- invitations for two to some performances of the White Theatre at the Museum's Theatre hall

Corporate members of the Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum

Corporate members of the Society of Friends of the Dostoevsky Museum may specify a specific program of the museum activity to which its corporate contribution is made:

- reconstruction of the building and rooms

- exhibits restoration

- exhibition projects

- improvement of visitors reception conditions

- educative programs

- publishing activities

- other programs


Charitable donations can be made both in monetary value or by providing the Museum with necessary materials, equipment, services. The Dostoevsky Museum gratefully receives all donations and in turn grants special privileges to all Corporate members of the Society.
